The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
